What our clients say…

Congratulations on presenting a most articulate & valuable on- line Equestrian Australia Coaches Update Seminar. I found your discussions’ most relevant in regard to the various issues & situations (eg. Safety & legal problems) as are encountered in Equestrian Training. The on-line format was my only way of completing the update requirements at the time. Although I consider myself sadly lacking in computer skills I found the process very user friendly. I would be happy to do it on-line again.

I really appreciate that you give your time to put these together because they are really beneficial. Secondly, what you said in the webinar made me think about what the riders at last night’s WEG dressage should have been doing in their grey zones! I did see some (even at GP level!) who didn’t use their corners as well as they could to set up the next movement and some were nowhere near straight, which was surprising.  I was wondering what you would have said!

Anyway, thank you for stimulating my thought processes and giving me another perspective when watching and riding dressage.

Great [Coach Updating] presentation. So convenient being able to do it online.

At the beginning of my coaching journey I was feeling daunted by what lay ahead – I was well aware of the high levels of non-completion, and non-competent assessment results, especially for the Dressage! The training I undertook with Jacqui van Montfrans at Forward Coaching prepared me to the n’th degree and then some! In fact, I think I enjoyed the assessment process as the assessors actually complemented me on my delivery style, skill set, communication methods, and confidence. Our one on one and video analysis sessions proved invaluable..and beyond passing the exam I feel inspired to uphold the levels of professionalism Jacqui exhibited and promoted, and carry through the passion and enthusiasm Jacqui has for Coaching on to my clients!

I live in Grafton on the North Coast and the ability to update my EA Coaching qualifications online has proven to be most convenient, cost effective and beneficial. Thank you for providing this new initiative to assist coaches in rural areas. I look forward to using and promoting this service.

Most important for me was finding a coach who facilitated my desire to do more than learn to ride the dressage movements. I was able to see that I needed to develop a real learning pathway of skill development in my riding, in horse management and beyond. This experience has created in me a real interest of helping others achieve this goal though my coaching. I have realised through my journey that the student needs support from many sources and those are not always easy to find. For me just gaining a certificate was never the sole objective. My desire is to be on a continuous learning program, and to be able to build and expand my skills and knowledge. For me Forward Coaching meets those requirements. It is an environment where I can provide support for those starting out on their journey and also where I receive support and information from people willing to share their knowledge – so that my journey never ends.

I have a naughty pony and Jacqui teaches me tricks and strategies to help me – and she’s fun.

Jacqui is one of the few instructors who is able not only to teach, but can ride as well. It gives her a very holistic approach to her instructing, she can see what you feel and give very clear direction on how to fix problems, so that when you’re schooling your horse on your own you are able to re-create the same feel and level of work. Jacqui’s teaching focuses on establishing the correct basic work and it is this strong foundation work that ensures a consistent level of performance in the ring. Jacqui is not only capable of adapting her training techniques from horse to horse, but also from student to student, to best accommodate different modes of learning and cater for all levels of ability. There is no yelling or screaming, or quick fixes and trick riding; but a genuine application of well established training techniques. If you are interested in learning how to improve your riding, or your horse’s way of going, or are fed up with instructors who tell you to do something, rather than how to do something or why you should be doing it, then Jacqui is the instructor for you

Jacqui is a great instructor as she helps me become aware of my influence on the horse and to identify my faults as well as how to correct them. Then not only do I learn in the lesson but I can continue to improve at home and get the most out of every clinic.

As a high achiever I look for ways to improve and grow in business and my personal life. Jacqui was recommended as somebody who would be able to assist in these areas. A Coach for me plays a number of roles: Somebody to listen; A facilitator/mediator for my thoughts and actions; A guide to plant the seeds for a different approach; Somebody to open my eyes so I can acknowledge myself for what I already do that is right; Somebody to hold me accountable; A friend that is cheering you on from the stands and wants the best for you more than you do for yourself. Jacqui turned out to be all of these things and more. Jacqui guided me to make slight changes and gave me tools to deal with everyday challenges. Jacqui has an ability to assist you to see why you do the things that you do and what beliefs you attach to them. After six coaching sessions I was able to put to rest some inner conflicts and have a balance to my life that worked for me. The coaching was organised around both our busy schedules and outside of hours when needed. I highly recommend Jacqui as a Coach.
